John Ensign, D.C.

Born and raised in central Illinois, I have called central Iowa home for the past 26 years.  In my free time I like to be outdoors hiking, biking, fishing/hunting and the occasional round of golf, when I can find time. In 2007, I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. Being a Chiropractor is my second calling.  Prior to being a chiropractor, I earned a graduate degree in chemistry and worked in various capacities as a chemical engineer. Whether working around hazardous chemicals, operating heavy equipment or working for hours in the lab or behind a computer, I understand how the impact of our daily lives can cause poor spine and joint health that leads to pain, discomfort and poor health.

As a patient, chiropractic changed my life in such a positive, profound way, I went back to school to become a chiropractor so I could help others live a pain free, happy, healthy life the way chiropractic helped me and my family. The chiropractic technique I use is born out of my own chiropractic experience the past 25 years, as a patient and a doctor.  In addition to family practice, I was the team chiropractor for the Grinnell Griffens Rugby club, was the chiropractor for the athletes at the Division III indoor national track championships held at Grinnell College and have been a part of the chiropractic staff at the Division I Drake Relays in Des Moines, IA, not to mention all the high school and professional athletes I have worked with around the metro.

Needless to say, I love what I do, helping others live a pain free, happy, healthy, productive life.
